Puzzles

This is a page dedicated to puzzles, ciphers and brain teasers I made for summer camp (for older children to solve) or for friends. Some of them were taking part in some bigger game, those are usually easy to solve. Some of them, however, are harder to solve. Puzzles from this category were usually pinned on board for several days, and whoever solved them, earned extra points for their team.

Contents of these ciphers/puzzles are usually messages in Czech language. All ciphers are marked with a flag (Czech, English or "universal") and difficulty rating. You can validate your solve results using validator under every puzzle - it's not case sensitive, removes Czech diacritics and tolerates absence of spaces, where appropriate. If you think you solved the puzzle right, but validator still tries to tell you, that you're wrong, contact me via email: kenny (at) cetes (dot) cz.

For solving, you may need standard english alphabet (26 letters) with corresponding numbers (A -> 1, B -> 2, ...), Morse coding table, paper, pen, and usually a clear mind, since these puzzles are often based on a very simple thought. Remember, kids solved them all.

Good luck.

Semaphore

Last of board puzzles on summer camp 2017, took 5 days until somebody solved it.

Binary grid

Another board puzzle, solved by 10 years old in a while.

Doomskip

Very simple cipher, the key is: IDKFA

Redefined alphabet

Another board puzzle.

Towel cipher

Originally a cipher made for towel day (25 May) with different message, later adapted as first board puzzle on summer camp. Once your deciphered message contains three consecutive A's, that's the end of message.

Deaf man cipher

A puzzle, originally created as 7 cards bond by a piece of thin cable, the card number 1 was on top, card number 7 was the last on bottom.

Alphametrics

Cipher created as part of "treasure hunt" game.

Circular

A brain teaser. The solver must find values of A, B, C and D.

Polygonade

Also very simple puzzle, solved by 8 year old.

Shell

An experimental puzzle. The basic look and principle of this puzzle was used for several other puzzles during single game.
